Moisture Wicking
Merino wool is the best fiber to regulate moisture. It does this by absorbing sweat from your skin and releasing it into the air. Whether you're hiking, running, biking, on the job, or just relaxing at home, our wool helps keep you dry and comfortable all day long.
Soft & Comfortable
Merino wool fibers are much finer than traditional wool, creating a luxuriously soft feel that won’t itch or irritate your skin. Comfortable enough for everyday wear and gentle enough for sensitive skin, it’s a natural choice for underwear, base layers and next-to-skin comfort.
Highly Breathable
Merino wool’s unique structure allows air to circulate freely, helping to regulate your body temperature in both hot and cold weather conditions. Whether you're layering up for winter or staying cool in summer, Merino keeps you comfortable by letting your skin breathe.
Anti-Microbial
Merino wool naturally resists odor-causing bacteria, keeping you fresher for longer. No lingering smells, even after extended wear. Perfect for travel, outdoor adventures, and everyday life.
Insulates When Wet
Merino wool can hold up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy against the skin. Unlike cotton or synthetic fabrics, it keeps insulating when damp, making it a smart choice for unpredictable weather and high-output activity.
Fire Resistant
Merino wool is naturally fire-resistant and self-extinguishing. It will not melt or stick to your skin like synthetic fabrics. A trusted option for first responders, campfire safety, or any high-heat environment.
UV Protection
Our Merino wool clothing helps protect you from the sun’s harmful rays, with different levels of UPF based on fabric weight:
Microweight (145 GSM): UPF 20
Lightweight (170 GSM): UPF 25
Midweight (235 GSM): UPF 50+
Heavyweight (400 GSM): UPF 50+
These natural UV-blocking properties make Merino wool ideal for long days or the beach or above treeline.
Renewable and Sustainable
Merino wool is a natural, biodegradable fiber with a low environmental footprint. Grown by Australian Merino sheep and shorn seasonally, it is a renewable material that supports responsible farming practices.
These are very high quality mittens! As someone who prefers to wear liners under their mittens (keeps your fingers warm if you need to pull your hand out for a minute), I appreciate that these mittens have enough room to make that comfortable. The gloves are well-made and should last through a lot of use. The wool lining gives them a great additional layer of warmth. And the long cuffs that fit over your coat sleeves gives even more protection. I highly recommend them!
These mittens mean business. I wore them on a ski trip where it was freezing and snowy, and they held up perfectly. They’re thick, warm, and definitely built for serious winter weather, not just a chilly day. I have small hands, so they fit a bit big, but that actually worked in my favor because I could layer liners inside for extra warmth. One of my favorite features is the wrist coverage, the cuffs are long enough to go over my jacket sleeves, sealing out the cold. Plus, they have large, sturdy carrying straps that easily slip over your wrists, way better than the flimsy straps most mittens have.Just know that these are big, heavyweight gloves and they lean toward men’s sizing, so size down if you have smaller hands. They’re not heated, but honestly, they’re warm enough that I didn’t miss it. Solid choice for cold-weather adventures.
These mittens keep my hands warm during cold days on the slopes. The insulation is excellent, and the waterproof material keeps my hands dry even in wet conditions. The fit is comfortable, offering enough flexibility for handling gear, though they can feel a bit bulky. The wool-polyester lining is incredibly warm, and the palms are reinforced with soft leather, which is durable without stiffening in the cold. The built-in leashes are a great touch for convenience when I need to remove them briefly.
I'm a big fan of Minus33 merino wool clothing and have several items I wear regularly, including their underwear which is my favorite underwear ever. So, I was excited to try their gloves. These did not disappoint! They are extremely well made (as you'd expect at this price point). You could wear them with or without a liner pair of gloves but for extreme cold you'd probably want a thin liner in addition to these. I love the two tone look of them. The yellow leather section is made with high quality leather which has a lovely feel to it. The gloves are supple and comfy to wear. They are expensive but the quality is top notch.
