These are so thick and soft. But the best part is that I generally have never been able to wear tall socks because I have big calves. These are able to comfortably pull up my calves without any constriction. I'm looking forward to trying these this winter.

I wasn't sure of what to expect

I wasn't sure of what to expect. The sock is definitely heavy weight, but the large felt like an XL sock, as I had to pull the heel part up out of my shoe to make it fit in my shoe and on my foot. It is super warm however! And I really like my feet to be warm!

I’ve wore these socks on my winter hike up Monadnock Mountain NH.
The socks really kept my feet warm and dry.
Properly worn, these wool socks are very warm, there is a lot of cushion, and thick warm wool. The key to warm feet is to properly dress them. Starting with dry bare feet is a must. A clean dry pair of minus 33 sock liners then slip on these heavy boot socks and depending on your boot you will be warm. Keeping your feet dry, warm socks and having great winter boots is key.

These are the warmest socks! I work as a Sauna Guide in Duluth, MN, and frequently work outside in well below zero and then pop into a 180+ degree sauna. One day it was -45 (with windchill), and I stayed generally warm for several hours outside with minimal breaks and only light activity (wearing these and some Lems Boulder Boots with the insoles removed). I couldn't believe how effective these were! Also love these for hunting. I did love them so much that I would wear them indoors almost like slippers, and they wore a hole in the big toes pretty quickly so I'd recommend keeping for boot wear only. Still totally worth it! Much warmer than any smartwool, darn tough or other top brands from REI, etc.

Not very warm…

These socks are nice but they are not very warm. I do a lot of ice fishing and my toes still get cold even with 2 pairs of socks. One regular pair and the outside pair are these expedition socks. I just received them a 2 weeks ago and with temps in the 20’s my toes still get cold when they’re advertised for temps below zero. The boots I’m wearing are thick Cabela’s pack boots also.

I have ordered 6 or 8 times from Minus33. They are truly a great company to do business with, and their products have all delighted me. First, I’m a very large guy and they have socks, wool tops, bottoms, and hats which actually fit me! You can easily TALK to them on the phone if you need to, and they go the extra mile if you have an issue or just need some help. Also, Merino wool is amazing by itself! It suppresses bacterial growth, so where I used to need to pack 7 or 8 pair of socks for a camping trip, now 2 pair are sufficient. Hopefully not ‘TMI’, but I take my socks off after 6 or 7 days of continuously wearing them, and I only smell the detergent that I used to wash them! Highly recommended!! John

Not what I expected no great feet cushion

I’ve bought merino socks from other vendors that are very durable and these are not what I expected the ones I purchased before have thick cushioning and are actually less than half the cost that I paid for three pairs not impressed. Sorry being honest.

Perfect For Extreme Temperatures
